The Full Story

About

Healing is not a linear path; it is an integrative landscape. The name En Thēa was intentionally created for this practice. Its meaning: —within the divine—to honor the belief that the medicine you seek is not something given to you by the external, but something in practice to be helped within an internal remembering.

In the high desert, we see water carves through the hardest basalt to find its way home. Here at En Thēa the container is provided that carving—a space that is safe, grounded, and fiercely protective of your process.

Mission

At En Thēa, the mission is to transform the landscape of mental health by providing integrative, trauma-informed care that honors the whole person. Within its existence is the bridge to gap between clinical rigor and transpersonal depth, ensuring that high-acuity healing is accessible, culturally resonant, and deeply rooted.

The Four Commitments

 Clinical Sovereignty

We provide a "sovereign container" for healing. This means your process is held with the highest clinical standards—utilizing evidence-based modalities in therapeutic care—while remaining free from the constraints of corporate, one-size-fits-all mental health models.

 Cultural Reciprocity

We acknowledge the complex, sacred histories and diverse heritage of the lands where we practice across New Mexico and Colorado. En Thēa is dedicated to practicing non-extractive, culturally accountable care that honors Indigenous sovereignty, respects Hispanic and regional lineages, and celebrates the rich multicultural tapestry of the Southwest. Grounded in relational ethics, our commitment to reciprocity means continually examining our positionality, practicing deep listening, and approaching every client with humility and contextual awareness.

 The Bridge of Consciousness

En Thēa provides a supportive, clinically sound container for preparing for and processing expanded states of consciousness. Focusing exclusively on pre-session preparation and post-experience integration, the emphasis is placed on clinical safety, grounding, and sustained aftercare—ensuring insights are thoughtfully translated back into daily life, relationships, and community.

(***Note: Services are strictly limited to psychotherapeutic preparation and integration; medicine administration and medical services are not provided.)

Community Sanctuary

Beyond individual care, En Thēa is dedicated to the collective. Serving as a hub for harm reduction, youth education, and rural healthcare advocacy, the practice aims to cultivate a supportive environment that protects the most vulnerable while empowering the broader community.

Vision

The vision for En Thēa is to serve as a living bridge between the clinical and the sacred—establishing a grounded sanctuary where the high-acuity science of trauma recovery meets the ancestral wisdom of the Northern New Mexico and Colorado landscapes. En Thēa envisions a future where mental health is no longer a corporate transaction, but a sovereign journey: a container where the "river" of human consciousness is held by the "stone" of rigorous clinical excellence. By fostering deep cultural reciprocity and pioneering the ethical preparation and integration of expanded states, the practice seeks to cultivate a collective resilience that honors the individual spirit as much as the sacred land it inhabits.

Marisa L. C de Baca, LCSW, PAT/KAP Practioner

Marisa C de Baca is a Nuevomexicana with deep roots to Northern New Mexico. The daughter of an artist, she spent over a decade as a master metalsmith before translating the art of shaping raw material into the art of healing the human psyche. Receiving her BA in Intercultural Communication and Cultural Anthropology she pursued travels to various countries studying the intersection of art, culture and various healing modalities and methodologies. Marisa would go on to earn her Master degree in Social Work, driven by a fierce devotion to addressing the systemic trauma and substance abuse challenges facing her community.

Today, as a Psychotherapist and previous President of the New Mexico Psychedelic Science Society, Marisa provides a sovereign container where clinical rigor meets soulful, transpersonal exploration. Integrating Art therapy, Narrative therapy, and Jungian Psychoanalytic application, she serves as a dedicated companion to those navigating non-ordinary states of consciousness and deep recovery. Her practice is built on the Gabor Maté-inspired belief that no one is beyond redemption; she walks side-by-side with her clients to help them reclaim their autonomy and awaken their own inner healer.
